I would like to discuss male/female/authority issues from the Bible. I am also looking for a church in my area that not only allows women in ministry but also actively teaches mutuality in traditional marriage.
I was just reading almost every word in I Timothy according to an interlinear and the strong's concordance. I think there is even a possibllty that the eldership Paul is referring to are serving widows because he has just gone through great length talking about them and uses the neutral eldership word instead of elderess word because the subject is what she does (elder type service) not what she is. And he just got done telling Timothy the church shouldn't be burdened by supporting them unless they had no family to rely on. So why would Paul then go on to say anyone else in leadership SHOULD be a burden to the church?
